Place-based teaching and learning in SD61

My Library Learning Commons

Combining the LIIITE Model of Teacher Librarians with ISTE Standards for Educators, and incorporating both SAMR and TPACK models, this graphic shows how TL’s can contribute co-teaching and collaborative learning skills to the school community.

After posting the first itiration, I made edits to the document based on my colleagues’ advice. I tinkered with my logo, shifted some spacing, then added in the SAMR & TPACK models, and ISTE Standards for Educators.

What you see now is the edited version, intended to be printed on legal paper: 8.5″x14″.

    Hi Katrina,
You were able to clearly apply the LIIITE model to demonstrate how TLs can collaborate to support the whole school community. I like the colours you chose for your poster, they compliment the logo nicely. My eyes are drawn to the brown and orange squares that are on the left side middle, which takes me away from the text. Perhaps move them down towards the bottom left, or remove them all together. Overall, really well done.
    Kindly,
    Hayley

    Hi Katrina!

The first thing I noticed was the simple “slogan” that you included at the very top (“Be Curious. Think Deeply. Participate.”). It gave such a clear and concise picture of the kind of learner you are hoping to develop in your LLC. I also love the subtle touches of graphics that help the poster be more visually interesting, while leaving lots of room for the important information.

One addition that I might suggest is including a graphic to show the TPACK and SAMR models in the left column where there is white space. You made mention to them and it might be helpful to have the graphics for visual recall for the viewer.

I also found that maybe the poster might be a bit long vertically. If this was to be printed and put in your LLC, are there dimensions that might work better so that the whole post is generally at a viewers eye level?

Thanks for sharing such a clear and great poster!

    Comment from Navneet,

Woah you have done a great job with the LIITE Model, you are to the point with what you want to say which is great as there are so many parts to this model! I would agree with Hayley about the brown boxes, I think you can get rid of them. Besides that everything looks great – Navneet
